Yahoo! has announced deal with Ubi Soft and Vivendi Universal Games to distribute new and classic titles from these publishers on its Yahoo! Games on Demand service.
Through these relationships, top-selling titles from both publishers will be available to consumers for direct rental and broadband streaming play. The service currently has 80 games available online, and consumers pay $4.95 to rent individual games in three-day increments. (Longer rental packages are also available, as are multi-game rental packages.) Games from Ubi Soft that are available on Yahoo immediately include Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear Black Thorn, and Ghost Recon. Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc will launch by the end of this month. From VU Games, Yahoo will distibute Empire Earth, Arcanum, and SWAT 3. Terms of the deal were not revealed.
