Munich, Germany – April 30th, 2024 – A Roguelike with balls - that's Footgun: Underground! The debut title from indie studio Turtle Knight Games, and publisher CobraTekku Games, is an addictive, action-packed roguelike in which you kick one - or several - balls at nasty monsters to send them to the afterlife with brutal ball attacks and escape the underground. And who hasn't ever wanted to really kick the shit out of an opponent?! Footgun: Underground is now available for PC and Steam Deck on Steam for 14.99 EUR/GBP/USD, with a special 15% discount during the first two weeks after release.
In Footgun: Underground, balls are the central gameplay element and skill is definitely required. With ball control and the use of level environments such as walls, platforms, ceilings or even other balls, monsters can and must also be eliminated via barriers. After each successfully completed level, which is randomly generated, the player‘s character and balls can be upgraded with various skills and effects. Defeated boss monsters naturally unlock particularly valuable upgrades and loot. Different player characters with different characteristics and permadeath make each run unique.
Due to its fun and captivating gameplay, Footgun: Underground was nominated for the German Computer Game Award 2024 (DCP), Germany’s most prestigious gaming award hosted by the Federal Government and the German Games Industry association. It received a cash price of 25.000 EUR for being shortlisted in the category “Best Prototype”.
