The Pickford Brothers :

==============================================

Manchester, UK, 5th March 2012

Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint, the Pickford Bros' critically acclaimed #1 hit sports / puzzle game for iOS, now nominated for a prestigious BAFTA award and a Pocket Gamer 2012 award, has been updated with what is claimed to be the "scariest icon on the App Store".

"We've added so much extra content to version 2.0 of Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint that we thought we'd change the App Store icon to show what a difference this update has made to the game", explained co-designer Ste Pickford, "and there's a bit of received wisdom amongst developers that big cute eyes in your icon will attract downloads."

"Because we'd deliberately avoided copying the standard, cute, pastel graphic style of most iOS games, and therefore don't have a big-eyed cartoony animal to put on the icon, we thought we'd try using John's wild-eyed stare instead," he continued.

"When I woke up this morning to see my own face looming menacingly at me from the #1 position in the App Store "What's Hot" chart, I admit I was a little frightened," quivered co-designer John Pickford, "but I was able to collect myself after a moment or two, before scaring myself again when I looked into the bathroom mirror."

This massive update to Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint, now live on the App Store, doubles the content available, adds several new features and improvements, and includes an innovative prototype feature where The Pickford Bros give players access to experimental versions of new game ideas in development.

"The reaction to the update has been incredibly positive so far, with 5-star ratings rolling in and people playing the game for tens of hours in only a couple of days," said John, "but it's the icon that's generating the biggest response."

"We've already seen it described as frightening, terrifying, and the scariest icon on the App Store," mused Ste. "Oh well, that's what happens when I try to draw 'cute'."

The Pickford Bros are generously offering to appear for free in the icon of any other iOS developer looking to terrify their audience with their next update.  "It's a guaranteed sales boost," raved John, "probably."

Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint is published by Zee-3 and is available as a universal app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices, and is available on the App Store right now for free.
