Today marks day one of the 15th Annual Indie of the Year Awards. A celebration of the years greatest indie games as decided by the gaming community. Let the search begin!
December 1st, 2024 - The 15th Annual Indie of the Year Awards have officially kicked off. A voting booth has been added to all indie profiles on IndieDB, and for the next four weeks gamers will vote to determine the top 100 games of 2024 (announced December 11) and then the overall winner will be announced shortly after Christmas.
Last year the community voted 20,000 times, which saw the surprize solo dev hit Lethal Company claim first place, followed closely by the prisoner's dilemma Slay the Princess in second and Occupy Mars: The Game placing third. They are joined by previous iconic winners including Minecraft and Rimworld.
From now until the close of 2024, join in the fun and help us to celebrate the highly creative and unique nature of indie games by encouraging your readers to vote. To make voting easy, we have prepared a year in review showcasing the top mod releases each quarter.
Only the community can decide who wins in 2024 - here's how it'll all play out:
- Phase 1 Nominations Begin: NOW!
- Phase 2 The TOP 100: 11th December
- Editors Choice Award: 22nd December
- Players Choice Best Unreleased: 27th December
- Players Choice Indie of the Year: 29th of December
