Apogee :

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DALLAS - June 4, 2024 - Wizordum, the retro first-person spellcaster developed by Emberheart Games and published by Apogee Entertainment, materializes a surprise launch of Episode Two on PC via Steam, as announced today at the OTK Expo, with Episode 3 and the 1.0 launch arriving in Winter 2024.

In Episode Two, journey through the shadowy depths of Terrabruma, and purge the evil forces of Chaos across a slew of new locales. Wield fresh firepower added to the last remaining mage’s repertoire, including a new godlike weapon, the addition of alternate fires, a cauldron of consumables, and a new magic system where slaying enemies replenishes spellcasting abilities.

Embody nature’s wild wrath with the Storm Gauntlets, unleashing powerful lightning strikes forking into multiple foes. Adapt to skirmishes with greater flexibility thanks to new alt-fire abilities: reduce goblins to ashes with the Fire Ring’s added short-range flamethrower ability, and manually detonate explosive projectiles with the Spellstriker’s Arcane Rock.

Cleanse mystical forests, mercenary-laden warships, and abandoned ritual grounds of the Chaos-controlled monstrosities lurking within. Avoid the perils of unseen snares like Flame Breathers and Wall Smashers that punish overeager mages that get too close.

Mount vicious, oversized rodents to trample waves of warmongers. Exchange scavenged loot for weapon upgrades, spell enhancements, and stat boosts at the new Sorcerer's Shop. Pick up newly added consumables during battle: chug a Haste Potion and dash past obstacles, or deal damage by flashing through enemies with the new Blink ability. Immobilize nearby foes with Frost Breath, halting all enemy movement within arm’s reach.

In Episode 3, launching this Winter, scale snow-capped mountains before diving into Terrabruma’s molten core where the source of Chaos resides. Three new weapons await, including the Stinger Crossbow, capable of flinging iron bolts through the hearts of multiple enemies with a single shot. Watch every step as falling rocks and volcanic eruptions complicate the trek. Face off against Frost Trolls, Flying Imps and Dark Knights on a quest to eradicate evil once and for all.

"Wizordum’s early access release made a thunderous debut, and we’re pleased to shock our community and newcomers alike with today’s surprise drop of Episode Two," said Primož Vovk, developer at Emberheart Games. "The new consumables and Sorcerer’s shop freshen up the game, and even Episode One feels better thanks to these additions. We have quite a few twists and turns up our sleeves for 1.0, stay tuned! ”

Wizordum (including Episode Two)is available on Steam for $14.99. For more information on the enchanted world of Wizordum, check out their Twitter and Discord. For more on Apogee Entertainment, please visit the Apogee website and follow @Apogee_Ent on Twitter.

About Apogee Entertainment
Apogee Software’s legendary journey began in 1987, when Scott Miller decided to split his new game, Kingdom of Kroz, into three episodes, with the first episode available as free shareware. The “Apogee model” of distribution would revolutionize PC gaming and catapult Apogee Software to global renown. As a publisher, Apogee (and its later incarnation, 3D Realms) would introduce the world to id Software, Remedy Entertainment, Parallax Software, and other video game superstars in the making. The new Apogee Entertainment, with founder Scott Miller at the helm, will empower today’s incredibly talented indie developers, paving the way for their global success with innovative ideas, cutting-edge marketing, and the same fearlessness that changed the industry.
