Independent Swedish Game Studio CRG announces the highly anticipated mage class called the “Technomancer”, which will become available in the full release of Crystalfall in 2025. For the Open Beta on December 13th, there are two new world zones for you to explore: the Fallen Metropolis and Northern Lands, totaling five distinct, steampunk-themed areas in the post-apocalyptic world of Crystalfall. The Hack ‘n’ Slash Action RPG is available to wishlist on Steam and Epic Games.

–”It feels really exciting to be able to offer five world zones already in Open Beta,” says CEO Åke André. “We think it’s important to include as much as possible in the playtests, so that players can have a chance to give feedback on as many features as possible and impact the game.”

The new class, the Technomancer, comes partially in response to what the players in their community have been asking for since the Alpha playtest.

–”Mage classes are a popular choice in Action RPGs,” explains Creative Director Daniil Sanders. “Many in our community have been asking for it. We’ve already explored several steampunk-themed characters, but the Technomancer perfectly encapsulates the crystal technology and magic of our game universe.”

CRG has given their community many opportunities to vote on favorite classes and animal hybrids in polls and forums. In the end, the Technomancer will be a female crow hybrid carrying a steampunk staff powered by crystals. In a world where crystals are more powerful than gold, and aether allows hybrids to use special abilities, the Technomancer will provide many opportunities for high octane gameplay.

With Open Beta coming up on December 13th, here’s what’s new compared to the Closed Beta that was held in June:

  1. New World Zones “Fallen Metropolis” and “Northern Lands”, totalling 5 world zones for Open Beta

  2. New Dungeons and mini dungeons

  3. New Mobs

  4. New Bosses

  5. Socketables for Talent Tree and Skill Tree for more character customization

  6. New Weapons and Gear

  7. New Quests

  8. Updated User Interface and VFX

In Crystalfall you take on the role of an escaped convict and embark on a journey through a world devastated by a mysterious asteroid, scattering powerful crystal shards. To survive in this world you delve into post-apocalyptic dungeons that randomize upon each visit, testing your strength against mighty bosses. With an expanding talent tree, deep itemization and lootable skills with randomized skill trees, Crystalfall offers you a myriad ways to customize your character build and playstyle.

Crystalfall will be free-to-play in Open Beta and the official release is planned for 2025. In celebration of the Open Beta release, Crystalfall offers supporter packs for a limited time on Razer Gold and Epic Store.
