Baldur’s Gate 3 and Thirsty Suitors lead the winners at the Gayming Awards 2024

SringSims, Latinx in Gaming, Emzii and The Last of Us also win at virtual ceremony held across IGN and Gayming’s channels

The winners of the Gayming Awards 2024 have been announced, with Baldur’s Gate 3 winning the top two awards of Game of the Year and Readers’ Award, as well as taking the Best LGBTQ Character Award with Shadowheart. Thirsty Suitors takes the Best LGBTQ Indie Game Award and the Authentic Representation Award.

 
The winners of this year’s Gayming Awards were revealed on a live stream hosted by DEERE and MiladyConfetti as part of IGN’s Summer of Gaming and across Gayming Magazine’s Twitch and TikTok. Plus, a Spanish language co-stream by Mexican TikTok icon, Angelo Gamer.

 
In total, there were 9 categories honoring a selection of video games, TV shows, organizations, esports names, and content creators that have championed diversity and inclusivity globally in 2023/24.

 
Additionally, Jeremy Crawford picked up the Gayming Icon Award in recognition of their contribution to the LGBTQ community within tabletop gaming for his work on Dungeons & Dragons. Plus, Gayming Magazine also inducted five more streamers into its Rising Star Class. The streamers were chosen by the Gayming Ambassadors to join this prestigious class because they have all "made incredible strides in their streaming career over the last year and have made significant contributions to the LGBTQ+ world within the gaming space."

 
"2023 and the start of 2024 was an incredibly tough year for the games industry, and we have certainly felt the knock-on effect of that," said Robin Gray, Founder of Gayming Magazine and the Gayming Awards. "I am delighted we were able to finally celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ gaming community. Each year I’m thrilled at what new stories of success we unearth. The Gayming Awards are on a journey of evolution, and I’m honored that we’re able to celebrate the best our community has to offer. We’re a small company that has been greatly affected by the global economy and this has caused some issues within our community. I’m determined to continue our growth and our journey, making good on our outstanding issues. Gayming is a platform for all, and we will always keep fighting for inclusivity and representation."
