Engine Software | Doetinchem, 11-01-2005 - Engine Software, developer based in the Netherlands, today announces that it has signed a license and distribution agreement with Bazix concerning the rerelease of Engine Software retrogames originally released between 1990 and 1993.

In the early nineties Engine Software actively developed games for the renowned MSX2 system under the name "MSX-Engine". During these years three games were released in Europe and Japan: Dizzy, a puzzlegame based on colors, DIX, a pattern based clone on the Tetris concept, and DASS, a 2D shoot 'em up. Both Dizzy as Dix were later released for other platforms like PC, Gameboy Color and Pocket PC.

With the recent MSX-Revival in Japan, initiated by ASCII Corporation, and the success of both MSX Association as "Project Egg", which resells classic games online, Bazix has now brought this initiative to Europe, and as a first step will rerelease Dizzy, DIX and DASS through the online service at www.woomb.net.

In Japan the rerelease of retrogames through an online portal was - and is - highly succesful, Project EGG re-released over 300 retrogames for several platforms (MSX, PC-Engine, PC-9801, Sega Megadrive, X68000). During this period, Project EGG managed to win the hearts of a multitude of Japanese gaming fans. Bazix is applying this success formula to the English-speaking market: for a small fee per month these games can be bought separately and upon payment can be downloaded immediately.
