Phoenix, AZ – December 5, 2024: E-Line Media has announced that it’s going virtual with the follow up to its award-winning 2020 Beyond Blue. Co-developed with Chaos Theory Games, and launching January 2025 for Meta Quest headsets, Beyond Blue: After the Storm will put you back in the diving suit of deep-water explorer and scientist, Mirai (voiced by Erika Ishii), as she discovers a beautiful ocean world based in reality and set in humanity’s not too distant future.
Beyond Blue: After the Storm - Announce Trailer
After a severe tropical storm damages an underwater research station, Mirai and her crew are asked to help repair the damage and lend aid to the creatures in the surrounding biosphere. What they uncover there is more dangerous than they could have realized and will take all their skills, and help from an unexpected ally, to make right.
In an entirely new experience developed for VR, alongside consultation from science’s leading ocean experts like marine biologist Dr. Erika Woolsey (Chief Scientist & Co-Founder of The Hydrous), Beyond Blue: After the Storm will have you swimming through unique biomes, and interacting with real-world creatures that few have ever seen in person.
Steve Zimmermann, Vice President - Marketing, E-Line Media, says:
“Even before we had released the original Beyond Blue, people were asking us if we were going to bring it to VR… so now we have! However, Beyond Blue: After the Storm is not a port of the original flat-screened game, but a whole new story and unique experience created specifically for VR, featuring Mirai and her ocean world.”
