BUZZ BUILDS FOR INDIE ANGELS CLIENTS DURING SUMMER GAMES FEST

SUMMER GAMES FEST: LOS ANGELES & MONTREAL: MONDAY, JUNE 3, 2024 – Indie Angels, the Montreal-based marketing and PR services agency catering to independent game studios, is happy to share that four of its clients will be highlighted in several showcases during this year’s Summer Games Fest.


These activities include participating in the in-person Play Days event happening Saturday, June 8th- through Monday, June 10th in downtown Los Angeles. A representative from each of these Canadian indie studios will demo all-new gameplay from their upcoming games in the Indie Angels cabana, with one being a world premiere reveal.


Following the success of their stylish co-op espionage game, Operation: Tango (which is coming to Switch this summer), Montreal-based Clever Plays will be announcing its new game in production. A reveal trailer for the irreverent open-world tactical RPG will be featured in the Future Games Summer Showcase on Saturday, June 8th. The studio’s co-founder and creative director will be on-site during Play Days to provide details on the unannounced game following the reveal.


Finish Line Games from Toronto will kick off Summer Games Fest demo-ing its 80’s futuristic Action-RPG Robots at Midnight on Friday, June 7th at the Guerilla Collective + The MIX onsite showcase held at the Grammy Museum Rooftop at L.A. Live. The studio’s co-founder and CEO will then be exhibiting the title, highlighting new gameplay and features, in the Indie Angels cabana at Play Days. In Robots at Midnight, players must explore the planet Yob -- once a luxury destination, where they will face intense combat with robots, unravel deep lore, and discover what it means to be human.


Lofty Sky Entertainment will be showcasing its 2023 GDC Pitch-winning sci-fi narrative adventure with unconventional RPG elements, Sky of Tides both at the Guerilla Collective + The MIX onsite event and in the Indie Angels Play Days cabana. The Toronto studio’s creative and marketing director will also offer a first look at the never-before-seen trailer of the game’s accompanying animated series, ATLA, set in the same world as the game. In Sky of Tides, players explore a broken world where the ocean has floated into the sky. As Rin, they set off to find her missing father and uncover a conspiracy to starve the world of Numen 9. The player’s choices shape her character with 32 possible outcomes. The title’s publisher, ESDigital Games, will be demoing another three of its games, the dark sci-fi stealth-action adventure Steel Seed, a stylish 2D metroidvania entitled AWAKEN - Astral Blade, and the story-driven action shooter Memory Lost at the Guerrilla + The MIX onsite showcase.


Fera: The Sundered Tribes, an open-world co-op aerial combat survival and colony sim from the Toronto-based Massive Damage Games will be featured at The Guerilla + The MIX Showcase. This GDC Best in Play award-winning game will also be in the Indie Angels Play Days cabana, with the studio’s co-founder and CEO highlighting new gameplay and features. Players step into the role as a leader of a lost tribe that must hunt behemoths through aerial combat in order to survive and build up their village. Massive Damage will close out Summer Games Fest by releasing the first public demo of Fera as part of the June Steam NEXT Fest starting Monday, June 10th.
