Darkest Dungeon II Launches On Xbox July 15th, Pre-orders Open Now

VANCOUVER, July 1st, 2024 - Darkest Dungeon creator Red Hook Studios, has today announced that Darkest Dungeon II, their grim turn-based roadtrip RPG, will release on Xbox Series X|S on July 15th, 2024. The launch comes alongside the Sony’s PlayStation 4 and 5 versions and the Nintendo Switch version and will include all current updates and DLC. Players can now pre-order the game in the Microsoft Store for $39.99, 38,99€, £33.74 with a launch discount of 15%.

In addition to the main game, the DLC “The Binding Blade” will also be available on Xbox Series X|S. Players have the option to purchase the Oblivion bundle - containing the base game and DLC - in the Microsoft Store. Key features of its update include the addition of two playable heroes, The Duelist and The Crusader, as well as the roaming mini-boss The Warlord. A major new campaign game mode, ‘Kingdoms’, will arrive as a free content update later this year. This mode challenges players in a desperate race against the clock to find and defeat a monstrous threat before it overwhelms and destroys the Kingdom.

Darkest Dungeon II invites players to embark on a thrilling journey through five campaigns, known as “Confessions”, each featuring their own terrifying boss and pervasive mechanics. Including the Duelist and the Crusader, players can now choose from a total roster of 14 playable heroes. Other features include the extensive metagame progression hub “The Altar of Hope”, 10 companion pets with different run-defining properties and optional thematic difficulty modifiers in the form of the Radiant and Infernal Flame equipable items, for those who want less or more challenge.

Darkest Dungeon II arrives on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on July 15th, 2024. The PC version is also currently part of the Steam Summer Sale, with 40% off the main game and the OST and 10% off the Binding Blade DLC.

Darkest Dungeon II is a rogue-lite turn-based road trip of the damned. Form a party, equip your stagecoach, and set off across the decaying landscape on a last gasp quest to avert an apocalypse caused by your own failures. The greatest dangers you face, however, may come from within the group.

The sequel to the critically acclaimed Darkest Dungeon features all new 3D visuals in the distinctive style, a new run-based road trip structure, an enhanced version of the innovative turn-based combat system, fourteen playable heroes, five regions, five end bosses, and a metagame hub (“The Altar of Hope”) with extensive persistent upgrades. Darkest Dungeon II first released into Early Access on the Epic Games Store in October 2021 and has seen a regular cadence of major content and feature updates since Red Hook improved the game with the aid of customer feedback.
