Delabs Invites Gamers to Explore the Cosmos in Space Frontier’s First Public Playtest

 Delabs, the web3-focused arm of leading South Korean game development company 4:33 Creative Lab, announced today it will be holding its first playtest for Space Frontier, the company’s anticipated space RPG game.

The playtest will be open for a two-week period exclusively on Steam, beginning on December 15th(PST), 2023. Delabs Adventure pass holders will receive early access starting on December 13th(PST).

Steam is a leading platform for digital entertainment, offering thousands of games, movies, and films to millions of people around the world. 

Set in the distant future, "Space Frontier" immerses players in an epic interstellar saga. Set against the backdrop of a decimated Earth, the game follows the journey of space refugees searching for a new home among the stars. The playtest offers Steam users a sneak peek into the game's vast universe and allows them to contribute valuable feedback to help shape its final release slated for 2024.

The game’s Project Director, Yongtae Cho, sees a clear difference between Space Frontier and other games in the space survival genre.

“I’ve played other popular survival games and wanted to make sure Space Frontier avoided the limitations I experienced,” remarked Cho. “For example, other games allow saving only on a personal PC, creating the risk of constructions being instantly destroyed in online spaces due to player interactions. Space Frontier eliminates these hindrances, allowing players to seamlessly continue building and pioneering, irrespective of when and where they log in—a key differentiator in the gaming landscape."

Another unique aspect of Space Frontier is the narrative depth.

"With Space Frontier there is a clear commitment to enhancing the narrative experience,” added Cho. “While many survival games offer broad objectives, we are introducing a story-driven gameplay element often lacking in other survival crafting games. Space Frontier will immerse players in various episodes set against the backdrop of space refugees, creating quest-style experiences that add depth and meaning to the overall gaming journey."
