Donderbos Games releases ΔVØID on Steam

Donderbos Games :

On 17 June 2024, South African-based Donderbos Games released AVOID on Steam. AVOID is a first-person endless runner where you twist the world around you to avoid obstacles.

"The unique mechanic of rotating the world at 90 degree increments seems simple at first, but you soon discover unique ways to use it.", says Henk Scheepers the developer of AVOID and founder of Donderbos Games. "For instance, you can gain more air-time from a jump by timing your twists just right, or save yourself from a deadly fall by twisting the world so that you fall back towards a platform to land on."

Besides twisting your way to success, you have the staple move-set you come to expect from games in this genre, including dashing and sliding. The real joy comes from figuring out how to combine all these abilities in the correct sequence to overcome the myriad of obstacles AVOID throws at you. That ah-ha moment when you figure out how to get past an obstacle after being bested by it during your last couple of runs is extremely satisfying.
