Antstream :

- This week’s new releases include a Frogger clone and a “new retro” side-scrolling platfomer.

London, 4th June: Be prepared to run, jump and cross the road this week Antstream, the leading retro streaming service, welcomes Grebit and Doodle World to their extensive library.

The challenge for retro game fans this week involves Samurai Shodown and is called “Stark Raving Mad”.

Grebit was an arcade game that launched back in 1990 and released for both the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. As a clone of the more famous Frogger game, players will take on the role of a small frog who wants to cross the road and river to reach safety. Easy enough to understand, each level gets progressively harder as the player dodges traffic and hops on logs to reach their goal.

Developed by Nate Peters, Doodle World launched in 2021 after a successful KickStarter campaign. In the game, players take on the role of Doodle as he goes about saving his world from the evil King Eraser and his office supply minions. With 15 levels spread across 5 worlds, and 5 bosses to defeat, players will run, jump and pounce their way through this delightful platformer.

Doodle World was originally released for the NES homebrew scene and was available as an original classic grey NES cartridge before being released to other platforms, and now to Antstream. Doodle World has a charming visual style inspired by Nate Peters’ daughter, Araceli, and her notebook doodles. The game also includes a “Kids Mode” to ensure the game is enjoyable by players of all ages.

With both Grebit and Doodle World joining the already massive library of titles available on Antstream, it has never been a better time to be a retro gaming fan. Global leaderboards will ensure players can compare their skills with others, and with Antstream's cloud system players are able to pause and resume whenever they wish.

“We are so excited to add the charming Doodle World and the classic gameplay of Grebit to the Antstream library. Grebit has been around for more than 30 years, while Doodle World is relatively new, showcasing the massive variety of titles available on Antstream. Two more games added in our continuing mission to preserve gaming history.” - Steve Cottam, CEO of Antstream.
