STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, December 16, 2021. DRKN, The Swedish streetwear brand, partnered with King Children to create the next generation of blue block and gaming performance eyewear.
The Shepard is 3D printed premium eyewear that comes in four colors and is limited to 100 pieces in total. Shepard is sold exclusively on www.DRKN.com as of today.
The design is inspired by a futuristic military aesthetic that draws from the DRKN brand DNA as well as the DRKN logo, which is constructed from positive and negative space. The result is sculptural, yet highly structured.
The eye shape has a wide field of view, delivering a truly immersive experience. Cutaway sides and end pieces create space to further enhance the field of view while leveraging the design freedom that only 3D printing offers. Temples swoop backward and cut sharply inward while thinning out to create an intentional “headphone zone”, that both aesthetically and functionally accommodates headphones.
DRKN and King Children teamed up with ZEISS to create lenses optimized to enhance the performance of gamers.
Our extensive testing with experienced gamers playing a variety of games for four hours or more gave us positive feedback including reduced fatigue, very comfortable to wear, and never a problem wearing them with headphones – not even with a large typical gaming headset.
