Eleventh Hour Games :

San Antonio, Texas -- January 30, 2023 – Eleventh Hour Games, the maverick indie studio that started from a Reddit post, has revealed details of the Warlock, one of the two new Mastery Classes being added to Action RPG Last Epoch when it moves from Early Access to full 1.0 launch on February 21. Along with the Falconer, Warlock brings the total number of character masteries available in Last Epoch at launch to fifteen. Warlock is the third and final mastery of the Acolyte character class, joining the existing Lich and Necromancer masteries.

A dark conjurer of the profane arts, Warlock has access to sixteen skills, including all-new abilities unique to the mastery. And like every single skill in Last Epoch, each of the new Warlock abilities has its own extensive skill tree with dozens of customizable augmentation nodes that offer a tremendous variety of buffs, damage type conversions, additional effects, and other modifications to the core skill.

“The Warlock spreads debilitating ailments and curses around the battlefield, obliterating enemies with dark, chaotic magic,” explains Holly Pettit, Principal Designer at EHG. “Warlock is very focused around curses and damage over time, giving those aspects of the Acolyte’s arsenal a more concentrated, well-defined home. This also allows the Lich to become more specialized rather than being the sole choice for non-minion Acolyte builds.”

The Warlock’s unique abilities are:

  • Chthonic Fissure, Warlock’s signature ability, opens an infernal crack in the ground when cast, releasing incendiary, enemy-seeking spirits from its fiery depths.

  • Ghostflame releases a powerful stream of channeled energy, dealing necrotic and fire damage over time. Ghostflame comes with a high cost, but stacks rapidly.

  • Profane Veil transforms the Warlock into pure, cursed energy that is unhittable for the duration dealing necrotic energy to nearby enemies.

  • Chaos Bolts conjures a barrage of chaotic particles dealing fire and necrotic damage. A low-cost, spammable skill, Chaos Bolts deals significantly more damage based on the number of curses on enemies.

  • Soul Feast sees the Warlock gorge on the souls of her cursed enemies, dealing necrotic damage and at the same time drawing soul fragments back to boost defense.

Warlock will join the Last Epoch lineup when the game moves from Early Access to 1.0 release, which has been confirmed for February 21 of this year. A detailed look at The Warlock, including gameplay and deep dives into abilities, curses and more, can be seen over on the IcyVeins channel.

Last Epoch is available now for $34.99 USD, with pre-orders of the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition also available on Steam ahead of launch on February 21st..
