Kent, U.K. 12 Nov. The first of Train Sim World 5’s new route Add-ons releases today in the form of the MBTA Commuter line between downtown Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts. Hauling out of Boston South Station is the shiny new HSP46 diesel locomotive, complete with stop-start efficient engine modes, a sleek body style and modern cab controls.

Players will be able to utilise some of the new features in Train Sim World 5 such as Conductor Mode (or Guard Mode), where the aim is to check tickets and manage door controls. For MBTA Commuter, this is done in the new bi-level commuter coaches as well as the single-level coaches brought over from a previous route.

Railfans with the previous Boston – Providence route Add-on in their collection will also be able to ‘Route Hop’ between both Boston routes, making gameplay seamless between the two New England experiences.

Authentic scenery and stations feature throughout, including the USA’s oldest baseball stadium at Fenway Park near Lansdowne Station. This baseball theme continues with collectibles to hunt down and special services to carry fans to and from a ball game! Players with other USA routes from the Train Sim World Compatible collection can also work CSX freight trains between Framingham and Worcester.

MBTA Commuter is just the first of a whole host of DLC on its way for Train Sim World 5, with 1980s northwest England, suburban Wales, rural Japan and the Netherlands all being covered with content announced in the extensive Roadmap.

Train Sim World 5: MBTA Commuter: Boston – Framingham/Worcester Line route Add-on is out now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for £29.99/€35.99/$39.99.
