Prague, Czechia - 16 July 2024: Grip Studios is excited to reveal that former ID@Xbox Director Agostino Simonetta has joined the company’s Board of Directors, with the former Microsoft industry veteran also set to advise the publisher on their positive trajectory moving forward.

Simonetta - who can also cite PlayStation Europe and SEGA Europe as employers during his more than two decades within the games industry - will help drive the overall strategy of Grip Studios moving forward and establish connections to key people in the industry.

Despite the current market downturn and layoffs, Grip Studios continues its growth and has recently expanded to Bratislava, Slovakia, which is its third development site in addition to the HQ in the Czech capital and another development site in Brno. This expansion in Central Europe serves as a first step for the company’s continental expansion plans.

“This is a really exciting development for me, in part because I have known the folks at Grip Studios since the company was formed,” offered Simonetta on his appointment. “The positive culture at Grip mirrors my own ethos, and the company has so much potential looking ahead. I can’t wait to assist them with their future growth.

”Formed in 2009, Grip Studios serves as a co-development and full-game development partner for many, with the company having worked on some of the biggest games in recent years, including titles such as Top Spin Tennis 2K25, Marvel Midnight Suns, Flintlock: Siege of Dawn, and Conan: Exiles, amongst numerous other unannounced titles and also delivered many AA full-game developments including Mothergunship, The Solus Project and two unannounced in-development projects

We are delighted and honored to welcome an industry veteran like Agostino to our board, to help us drive our strategy and growth. These turbulent times in our industry are also an opportunity for innovation and change and we believe that Grip Studios is well positioned to emerge as a key new partner for any publisher or developer looking to develop in a smart, efficient and drama-free way“, said Jakub Mikyska, co-CEO of Grip Studios.

Grip Studios’ reach is wide, with its staff roster of 150 employees working with huge partners across the industry including, but not limited to; 2K Games, Bethesda, Sumo Digital, Amazon Game Studios, Astragon, and Funcom.

The company, which offers full-range development, covering everything from art or engineering through to QA and full-game development, has fought against the grain in recent years, creating new jobs in the industry and making 2024 Grip Studios’ biggest year yet, with big growth expected in the coming years as well. Indeed, Grip Studios is looking to sign new clients and work with fresh clients to add to its existing roster, building momentum for a strong 2025 and beyond.
