December 4, 2024 – If you remember Backpack Hero, the game that brought inventory management to the roguelike genre, the same team is back with something new and experimental. Moon Watch is a mix of bullet-hell action and deckbuilding strategy, where the ability to stop time turns fast-paced chaos into a game of clever tactics.
The game launches in Early Access on December 4, and it offers a fresh take on these genres. Instead of relying on pure reflexes, you’ll pause the action to plan your next moves, creating a unique mix of strategy and action that feels completely different from what’s out there.
About the Game
Moon Watch is set in a world threatened by Vampires who rule from a fortress on the moon. You’ll take on their forces with one of three characters:
Lucia the Nun: Straightforward and reliable, she uses garlic to control space and projectiles to take down enemies.
Nina the Ninja: A close-combat fighter who dashes around and curses enemies, perfect for those who love risk and reward.
Encio the Engineer: A creative powerhouse who uses pinball-like movement, turrets, and electricity to wreak havoc, with an ability to charm enemies to fight for you.
You’ll refine your deck to create devastating combos, unlock new cards and characters, and discover rare relics that completely change how you play.
Is This a New Genre? Or a Bold Experiment?
Is Moon Watch creating a new genre, or is it just a weird experiment? That’s for you to decide. But with its mix of bullet-hell chaos and thoughtful deckbuilding, it’s definitely breaking some boundaries.
