Wesley Yin-Poole | LONDON, ENGLAND — January 5, 2005: Ever fancied playing videogames on the silver screen? Now's your chance — and you can make a difference to the victims of the tsunami disaster by donating money at the same time as winning consoles and copies of multi-million selling games.
Vue Cinema West End in Leicester Square have kindly granted the use of one of the country's biggest cinema screens for a gaming tournament on Saturday and Sunday 8th/9th January, from 9am to 5pm.
It's the ultimate big screen gaming experience with epic surround sound. Players will be flexing their thumbs to win consoles plus copies of chart toppers.
We have all been touched by the pictures of those who have survived the tsunami, only to find themselves starving, homeless and at the mercy of disease. By paying just £3 to enter this tournament, you will be helping vital aid get to where it is needed most.
If you don't fancy yourself as a gaming expert, don't worry! Pay £1.50 to watch the action on the big screen. Volunteers will also be running around Leicester Square with buckets for donations so there's no excuse for giving nothing!
All money raised will be going straight to the fund set up by the Disaster Emergency Committee. Pop down at the weekend and pit yourself against the rest of the UK's finest gamers, and make a difference to those whose lives have been devastated by the tsunami.
