UK based indie developer Tusky Games today announced that their medieval tournament simulation game: Tourney has just been released on PC, after 4 years in development.
In the game, players can manage their own tournament, building ale carts, hog roasts, stands and jousting areas. Players will invite knights and face the challenge of competing in jousts, sword fighting and archery contests.
"Our goal with Tourney was to create a new and unique medieval tycoon style game “ said Rich Baker of Tusky Games “and with this we were able to use an interesting mix of tycoon style build management with competition management"
The game, which was kickstarted in 2020, allows you to take the role as head of a noble house. You are responsible for both setting up facilities for your medieval guests, and also selecting your own champions to compete. Then you can influence how the champions perform in the events. You can select tactics, set the running order to be more favourable, and exploit weaknesses in your opponents.
Tournaments can be dangerous, so there is always the risk that some of the knights could get killed! The player has various options to help avoid this happening to their knights. Getting them experience and training; purchasing better armour, swords or other gear; and there are potions and tinctures that can also help.
The game is available now on Steam:
