Innovative Japanese language learning RPG officially releases on Steam

Bentonville, AR - Dec 14, 2023 - After a year of early access, Study Bunny Games, LLC announced the official release of their Japanese learning role-playing game, Learn Japanese RPG: Hiragana Forbidden Speech, for Windows desktop PCs on Steam.

Game dialogue changes from English to Japanese as you learn and progress in this comedic RPG backed by professional Japanese voice acting. The game is a full introductory Japanese course and adventure all in one.

While many Japanese learning games focus on hiragana and isolated vocabulary, they often neglect their application in real conversations, leaving learners without context. Learn Japanese RPG methodically enhances reading and listening ability through drills and Japanese dialogue at your current level.
 

"This game strives for what we call 'Mild Immersion.' We want to immerse players in Japanese as much as possible, but only beginner Japanese. We want them to feel confident that any Japanese that comes their way is something they've been taught and are capable of understanding at a basic level," explains Study Bunny Games founder Luke Wacholtz.
 

"The game also strives for 'Small Step Immersion.' We want to immerse players in Japanese one small step at a time.  After learning a new hiragana (a Japanese alphabet character) players will soon learn words spelled with that hiragana and immediately start seeing and hearing those words in dialogue.  Slowly, but surely, a player's vocabulary and reading ability will grow as the game gently immerses them."
 

The game's story follows a young misfit who begins to have hallucinations of ghosts and a mysterious, outlawed language after a meteor strike. As rumors of monsters spread, he ventures out of his village and begins to unlock the secrets and the power of the Forbidden Speech, Japanese.
 

"This game is a learning tool, but it's also a finely crafted adventure full of mysteries, colorful characters, and comedy," says Wacholtz.
