LONDON and DOUGLAS, Isle of Man (September 1, 2004) - The Isle of Man, located in the British Isles and internationally recognized for its pro-business environment, announced today it is attending the European Games Network (EGN) and ECTS to meet with North American and European companies interested in joining its growing technology community. Interactive entertainment and technology companies headquartered on the Isle of Man continue to experience success due to innovative government policies and a vibrant business economy.
"The Isle of Man offers the ideal business environment for interactive entertainment companies," said Richard Holmes, chief executive officer of IncaGold. "As more and more technology companies move to the Isle of Man, the synergies increase. The Isle of Man is becoming a European interactive entertainment hub similar to the way Boston, San Francisco, Austin and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina have become technology centers within the United States."
The Isle of Man has invested heavily in its technology infrastructure and offers state-of-the-art telecommunications and networking support throughout the Island. The country was Europe's first 3G mobile service testing center and one of the first countries to receive high-speed ADSL technology.
"The Isle of Man offers tremendous support for entrepreneurial companies and is focused on ensuring that corporations and individuals experience financial success," said Tim Craine, director of the E-business division for the Isle of Man. "IncaGold is one of the many success stories among interactive entertainment and technology companies with operations on the Isle of Man. Through proactive government policies and a strong business environment, we have developed a core technology community that is now attracting other firms from across North America and around the world."
In addition to offering a favorable legal and tax environment for companies considering the Isle of Man, the government provides special grants to assist corporations with a variety of set-up and operating costs.
