Toronto, Canada / July 29th, 2024 - Octopuses, dolphins … and skeletons?! The Tower Operation Octo, developed by Klub Kofta Studios, is making waves at the upcoming Steam Tower Defense Fest by announcing its first playable demo. This comes as an exciting addition to the game’s development as it introduces players to the thrills of aquatic Tower Defense.
Operation Octo’s demo will provide players with the story of Dr. Odin, an octopus scientist, as they team up with aquatic friends to banish the underwater skeletons’ evil tyranny. From creating strategies with sea creatures to surviving the attacks of swords and poisons, the game challenges players to make their own moves and create the best lines of defense against enemies.
As described by the developer, “It is a Tower Defense Game that incorporates Bullet Hell and Plants vs. Zombies in terms of gameplay and aesthetics.” The developer also shares that the game’s story is, “the player being an active agent inside the game world who physically moves around to place down turrets and avoid enemy attacks.”
Notable features of Operation Octo include:
Unlock Turrets and Upgrade as You Go: Your arsenal is filled with mechanized sea lives! Those cool inventions (such as Pistol Shrimp, Navy Seal, and Death Ray) will handle the fight. You’ll discover new turret types and elixirs from skeletons dropping them, so make sure to use your items to turn them into different forms! Who knows what you’ll create?
Skeleton Enemies and Changing Environments: Fight sword-swinging pirates, poison-wielding chemists, and even skeletal dragons… Those skeletons are sure to rattle up your playstyle at every turn! The further you advance, you’ll have to adapt to changing environments while exploring the seven seas!
The Steam Tower Defense Fest will give players the opportunity to experience Operation Octo's demo firsthand, providing feedback that will help in the game's development. The full game is scheduled to be released in 2025, with other updates to this demo already on the way!
