High Voltage :

27 FEB 2024 - Dragon Front Rising, the VR collectible card-battler, has received its biggest patch yet - and it’s available to play now (6PM GMT/1PM ET/10AM PT).

Developer High Voltage Software has been hard at work adding fresh new content that will cater to new and old champions alike. With an expanded roster of cards, a new playable faction, a new card type and updates to the AI, players will take on their foes in tense online PvP and challenging single-player campaigns.

This new update has added to the game’s large existing selection of cards, features and game modes. An intense card-battler, Dragon Front Rising features a 4x4 grid battlefield that is constantly alive with allies, foes, spells and projectiles. Each deck is helmed by legendary champions that are a powerful way to change the tide of a battle. Test out your skills against real online opponents in PvP, or challenge yourself against a relentless AI campaign with Conquest mode.

The world of Dragon Front Rising is even bigger with the addition of its eighth faction, “Aegis”. Aegis bring a whole new suite of units and champions, which leverage new card abilities that have been unseen in the game until now - such as the ability to add undesired “cursed cards” to your opponent's hand, throwing even the best players into confusion.

The new Aegis Conquest Mode is the largest conquest mode added to the game to date. Players will show their might by competing against seven total factions, instead of the six seen in previous conquest modes.

If you can conquer this new mode, you will be awarded with the new Aegis Champion, the All-Father - a formidable new champion who possesses strong base stats, flight, and the ability to evolve friendly units into powerful Fettered Shadow Units.

Alongside this content, the new “Dual Champion” card type is available to craft in-game. There are 28 “Dual Champions” for players to add to their arsenal, allowing an even wider range of freedom than seen before in Dragon Front Rising. These champions can change their loyalty between two different factions, which gives players more control over the strategies they want to use to crush their enemies.

Dragon Front Rising takes advantage of the latest Meta technology to provide the latest in mixed reality gaming on the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro.

Step into the epic world of WW2 mixed with high-fantasy, where your real and virtual worlds combine with the power of VR and mixed reality. Witness the battle unfold before your very eyes as projectiles fire across the sky and debris rains from the ceiling of your living room. Anticipate the moves of your online opponents with the use of accurate head-tracking.

High Voltage Software, the developers of Dragon Front Rising, said: “We always wanted the player to feel like they were playing a board game in their living room. Our early inspiration was Dejarik, the holo-chess game C-3PO and Chewbacca played on the Millenium Falcon. Bringing the virtual game into your living room allows players to remain engaged with friends and family, and it also adds a toy-like aspect to the game when seen in your actual physical space. Combine that with spell effects that manifest around the room, and it puts traditional physical board games to shame!”

Dragon Front Rising is available now on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and the Meta Quest Pro. The brand-new Aegis faction releases February 27 and can be earned with in-game currency or unlocked immediately for $11.99.
