Auroch Digital :

Auroch Digital is delighted to announce Nina Adams has stepped in to the role of Studio Director at the Bristol based studio. Nina takes over the 130 strong studio from co-founder, Dr Tomas Rawlings, who has moved into a new role of a Vice President at Sumo Digital UK supporting Auroch Digital, The Chinese Room & Midoki.

Having joined Auroch in July 2015 as Office Manager, Nina moved through roles in production and business development before becoming its Operations Director in 2021 where she was an integral part of Auroch’s acquisition by Sumo Group the same year. Nina is passionate about making the games industry a fantastic place to work in which people can thrive and was appointed to the board of the UK’s games industry trade body, Ukie in September 2023 having previously been a member of the board from 2019-2021.

“It's incredibly exciting to be heading up the wonderful development team at Auroch, and to be its first woman Studio Director,” said Nina. “We’ve got 130 brilliant game developers working on some fantastic projects and I’m looking forward to help bring those games to launch alongside seeking out new opportunities for the studio.”

Bringing his experience as a studio founder and successfully growing multi-projects teams, Dr Tomas Rawlings will continue to support Auroch Digital in his new role alongside, Brighton based The Chinese Room and recently acquired mobile developer Midoki. He said “I’m very excited to be working with the amazing The Chinese Room and Midoki, alongside my continued work with Auroch Digital as they build on their commercial successes and thrive as studios.  Their shared values around creative, respective and safe workplaces and the desire to develop great games across genres and platforms means I’m working alongside some of the best developers in the UK.”

Auroch Digital works on original game titles, partnerships, and co-development, specialising in strategy, retro, porting and digital tabletop games. The studio is currently working on several titles including amazing ports, co-development projects and original IPs (such as Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life). The studio is passionate about making games that players love while seeking ways to engage with real-world challenges. As a studio, Auroch Digital works hard on valuing sustainability, the art and craft of development, inclusion, open-mindedness, fair play, and accessibility.

About Auroch Digital

Auroch Digital was founded in 2010, initially as a consultancy, helping organisations such as the BBC, Wellcome Trust and many others understand games and gaming.

In October 2012, Auroch Digital expanded to become a development studio, creating pioneering newsgames that gained global recognition for the role the form could play as part of a global cultural conversation. The studio evolved from these early titles into creating a range of games and working with trusted partners too.  embedding those early lessons of creation into an updated development ethos.

Today, Auroch Digital also creates original games of its own as well as working in partnership with other games companies and major brands to develop titles using existing IPs. Recent releases from the studio include Brewmaster, and Mars Horizon, and its most recent was Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

Auroch Digital continues to grow and is recognised as a leading studio within the game dev community for its talent in connecting the real with the digital. It is also recognised for its craft in porting games from one platform to another, be that physical tabletop to digital, or between PC and console.
Auroch Digital is part of Sumo Digital.
