Ocean Drive Studio :

March 21, 2024 – Ocean Drive Studio is thrilled to be back in action at PAX East, where we’re unveiling two major announcements: a new closed beta for tactics RPG Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch, and an all-new roadmap for our Early Access shooter Blackout Protocol.

First up, Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch

A new spinoff game from the world of Lost Eidolons (available now on PC, Xbox, and PS5), Veil of the Witch was revealed at PAX West, 2023, and is now ready for its first beta playtest on Steam, accompanied by a brand-new trailer.

Beta signup kicks off on Steam starting March 21st, and PAX-goers will have an exclusive opportunity to dive into the beta content during our special demo at the event. The demo and beta content include:

  • The first of three Acts slated for release at Early Access launch, complete with a gripping storyline, prologue, and tutorial.

  • Five challenging combat scenarios, including one epic mini boss.

  • Random, chance-based events between combat scenarios to either aid or hinder players.

  • A diverse array of roguelike skills and upgrades with varying power and rarity.

  • Both session-based buffs and persistent progression elements.

  • Nine distinct characters to choose from, to deploy in your five-character party.

And that’s not all! Now presenting: a brand-new Blackout Protocol!

Since the start of Blackout Protocol’s Early Access in July of 2023, we’ve been closely listening to feedback from our players. Now, in response to their input, we’re making a hard pivot to the game’s overall vision, to ensure the game’s final release (slated for next winter) surprises and delights both current fans and new players alike.

We can also finally confirm that the official release will be simultaneous across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. And we’ve got a new teaser, to boot!

Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out three major updates that delve deep into Blackout Protocol’s narrative, unravel the mysteries of Section 13, and introduce a flurry of new features and mechanical overhauls. The first update, scheduled for this summer, marks the beginning of this new journey.

PAX attendees will get an early taste of the game's new direction, as Blackout Protocol pivots from a hardcore multiplayer shooter that treats single-player as an afterthought, to a dedicated single-player experience where multiplayer is optional.

Finally, in celebration of PAX, we’re offering a 25% Steam discount for one week, starting March 21st. (The discount is applicable to all regions where the game is currently available.)
