Future | 14/01/05 - Future's Official PlayStation 2 (OPS2) magazine is bringing its biggest free-gift ever to gamers on the 27th January. Alongside the popular monthly covermounted demo DVD is, for the first time ever, a second disc. This extra DVD contains EyeToy Chat Light, a massive taster version of Sony's brand new EyeToy Chat software, which is good for 100 hours of use!
EyeToy Chat Light is the world's first video-chat and broadband communications tool for gamers. It uses the EyeToy USB camera accessory, a networked PlayStation 2 console and a broadband connection. Thanks to the special second covermounted DVD OPS2 readers will be amongst the first to get to grips with the EyeToy chat software, which enables gamers to communicate through text, voice and video messaging, as well as playing games like Battleship and Chess face-to-face over the internet.
The February issue of OPS2 - the UK's best-selling video games magazine - also features the world exclusive first look at Electronic Arts forthcoming adaptation of The Godfather. It also brings gamers the word from Sony on the UK release of the PlayStation Portable and a full expose of Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, the latest instalment of the acclaimed stealth -em up series. OPS2 also reveals its hot-tip for 2005, Capcom's currently under-the-radar, Shadow of Rome.
As always OPS2 also comes with its regular essential covermounted DVD - packed this month with 8 playable demos - including the eagerly-awaited Timesplitter's 3: Future Perfect and Namco's top-gunning aerial shooter, Ace Combat: Squadron Leader.
Stephen Pierce is Editor-in-chief of OPS2 magazine:
"Two disks on a PlayStation 2 magazine is totally unprecedented. EyeToy Chat Light is fantastic fun to use; it's like having Star Trek technology in your living room. After this telephones will seem boring. Not only that, there's eight playable games on the regular DVD, including the superb Timesplitters: Future Perfect. Plus in the magazine we've got the world first look at The Godfather. OPS 2 - the don of games magazines is making an offer you can't refuse."
Issue 56 of Official UK PlayStation 2 Magazine is on sale, Thursday January 27th.
