Out Now, New Guardian Atlas Carries SMITE’s Universe in his Weapon

ATLANTA – DECEMBER 14 – Today, Hi-Rez and Titan Forge Games released SMITE’s new God and first Greek Titan, Atlas, in the last major update of 2021, ‘Titan of the Cosmos’.

As the first control-oriented Guardian in two years, Atlas was eagerly awaited by the community. Support players on the duo lane can now carry their team to victory just like this Titan carries the weight of the cosmos on his shoulders.

Atlas was revealed earlier in this popular cinematic trailer.

Sentenced by Zeus to haul the universe in an Astrolabe, Atlas uses it as a mighty weapon in-game. Playing him is all about teamplay and strategic decision-making. Atlas can alleviate allies of slow effects – and place them on an enemy God instead. With the Astrolabe, players can relocate opponents far away from endangered allies, or on the contrary send them straight in the middle of his team.

"Atlas was a really enjoyable character for us to work on,” said SMITE’s animation team. “The most challenging aspect was conquering his Astrolabe. This weapon is unlike anything we've ever seen before and the team was innovative with how Atlas utilizes it in battle.”

“We also worked closely with all of the other teams in finding a unique personality hook for Atlas. Many of our characters are based on how regal, magical, or extremely proficient in combat they may be. Here we latched on to the caring, protective, and exhausted fatherly figure that is Atlas. Although a Titan, he is one of the most human characters in SMITE."

Yulefest Event

Gather 'round the fireplace and enjoy the season of giving in SMITE with the Yulefest event!

All about coziness and kindness, this event features new skins that grant gifts to send friends. These gift tokens can unlock emotes, voice packs, and even skins. Both new, Little Helper Bastet and Infinite Oracle Morgan Le Fay can be unlocked for free as collection rewards.

The Yulefest event also includes free quests and rewards, such as a jump stamp, avatars and boosters.

Save The Date – The SMITE World Championship, pinnacle of this year’s esports action, will be held from January 7-9, 2022. Plus on January 6, the Hi-Rez Showcase will feature the biggest announcements and celebrations around SMITE and the other Hi-Rez games. More details can be found here.
