Update Key Features

  • Space Station: This is a safe space where players enter the game. You can meet up, team up and chat, but no damage is allowed. From here you can drop to the planet in a pod, teleport if you have placed a pad in your base, or access the uplink chest. Expect significant updates and improves to this area over the coming months.

  • Uplink Chest: Once you have established a base on the planet, you can send valuable items up to the Space Station for safe keeping in case of raids. This is strictly one way; to get your items you must return to the Space Station and bring them down via drop pod – no teleporting with them, it plays havoc with the GPS!

  • Consumable Buffs: Using resources found on the planet, craft items which give temporary boosts to radiation, heat or acid damage.

  • Seasonal Items: Even if you don’t believe, you might find additional gifts dotted around the world to get you into the spirit of the season.

  • Many bug fixes and QoL improvements that you have come to expect from the updates.

“After releasing in November to a great response, we’re expecting big things from this update and holiday period. Outerstellar is the kind of game you can easily devote many hours to, and for many people the winter break is perfect for the escapism this game offers.” said Noel Austin, Project Lead at Strange Horizons. “This is an Early Access game but already has a high level of polish and features, and as you can see from the regular updates, a hard working and committed team behind it. The community we have fostered is already incredible. We read every piece of feedback, and many of our bugfixes and new feature prioritisation has come directly from there. We’re excited to see where we can take this game together over the next 12 months.”
