Paint the town blood-red – gore-drenched twin-stick shooter Viscera launches on Steam today

November 12th 2024 – Indie developer Animation Logic is thrilled to announce the launch of its debut title, Viscera, now available on Steam.

Viscera is a gritty, back-to-basics twin-stick shooter that combines the spirit of genre stalwarts such as Crimsonland and Nuclear Throne with a classic sci-fi aesthetic. 

You are the last man standing in an unknown future, beyond humanity and civilization as we know it. The mutant horde is inevitable, but there’s no going down without a fight. It’s you and as many guns as you can carry against the endless legions.

Viscera combines its striking mechanical purity with an indulgent love for gore. Expect to be surrounded by pools of blood and relentless projectiles as you surge through throngs of enemies determined to take you down, until the ground is thick with ichor.    

Viscera seeks to provide the purest expression of twin-stick shooter action, where intricate buildcraft and raw spectacle are the priorities. Wield over 50 weapons that range from straightforward-but-effective fare, such as trusty assault rifles and double-barreled shotguns, to devastating damage-dealers, like grenade launchers and homing crossbows.

When you’re done with the traditional, make the most of Viscera’s more esoteric armaments: fling lightning across the charred battleground, set foes alight with fire-infused bullets, and unleash cosmic power with the literal black hole generator.

Supercharge your build with the in-depth perk system. Combine over 80 perks that enhance or transform your approach to each level – bolster your firepower with elemental bonuses and effects like acid bullets, or install cybernetic implants and body modification that can enhance your view of the battleground or even slow down time.    

You’ll need to stay agile as you adapt to the ever-shifting enemy horde and maximize the impact of your own powers. Climb the global and friends leaderboards and prove you’re the very best. Or if you’re looking for extra firepower, earn new weapons, upgrades, and unlocks by fulfilling the game’s many Steam achievements.

Animation Logic was founded by Egor Semenikhin, a seasoned developer with 17 years of experience at companies like Ubisoft and ZeniMax, where he worked on modern classics including Hitman (2016) and PUBG.
