TDK | Ratingen, 24th February 2005. TDK Mediactive today announced a fifth 3D scenario to be included in the upcoming racing game World Racing 2. The 'Race Centre' will add track atmosphere to the game and offers 11 different race tracks, a high-speed course with high banked curves, a classic oval track plus an off-road track and two rally courses.

The Race Centre is the game developers' virtual testing ground. It allows them to push the different car models in the game to their limits in order to adjust the driving physics and to correct the settings of each vehicle in the game. Now players will also be able to experience the various challenges of the new Race Centre in World Racing 2 and feel some race track atmosphere.

World Racing 2 features an advanced 3D Landscape Engine, which not only creates separate race tracks but facilitates the creation of kilometre long sceneries in full 3D. The 3D environments are inspired by attractive locations from all over the world and allow players to leave the road to take appropriate shortcuts or simply cruise through the terrain and enjoy exploring wherever they want. Characteristic sceneries from Egypt, Hawaii, Italy and Miami have been the basis of the detailed and realistic 3D landscapes in World Racing 2.

World Racing 2 will put the fun of driving at centre stage and offer optimised arcade racing characteristics, a rich and varied range of missions, lively 3D scenarios full of detail, enhanced tuning options and a great variety of integrated cars. World Racing 2 is currently scheduled to be released in 2005 for Xbox, PC and PlayStation2.
