Tucson, AZ - When mixed martial artist Drew Fickett steps into the UFC's trademark octagonal ring at the UFC 51 "Super Saturday" event, he will become the first Ultimate Fighter to be sponsored by a computer game company.
Running With Scissors, controversial creators and publishers of the international hit POSTAL franchise, proudly decided to support the young, Arizona-based welterweight as he brought his 22-2-0 record to the Ultimate Fighting Championship event.
"Win, lose or draw, we're sticking with Drew," vowed RWS' legendary leader, Vince Desi from a ringside seat at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay. "After all, Drew's a major POSTAL fan and a promising young fighter. And while the RWS staff are big supporters of real-life combat sports, we are absolutely passionate about our fans."
It was indeed Fickett who approached Running With Scissors about a sponsorship. As a long-time POSTAL fanatic, he contacted the company's Marketing Moyel Mike J about a possible hook-up. Faster than you could tap out to a Kimura, Drew was being photographed at a publicity event clad in a custom-made black GoPostal.com T-shirt.
Drew had only one question before signing on with Running With Scissors: "So, when the hell is Apocalypse Weekend coming out?"
