The latest free update brings a new game mode, Blitz, to the comically-ominous single-player shooter; Shotwood.

Blitz mode is available for all eight core assessment floors. When active, target locations will be randomized, waves will be disabled, and the player's performance will be graded on the following criteria:

1. Speed - How quickly the rooms are cleared.
2. Accuracy - How many shots are on target.
3. Lethality - Hostile targets must be struck in vital zones.
4. Diligence - Friendly targets must not be harmed.
5. Reload - Live ammunition must not be discarded.
6. Cover - Player must not take damage.

Higher grades pay bigger rewards. Randomized targets make every run unique, and having no waves makes the action faster and more aggressive than before. Blitz mode promises to be the most addictive mode yet, adding unlimited replayability, and a great new way for players to rack up the credits to get the better gear!

Also included in this update, are significant improvements to the minigame floors - "Balloon Stabber" and "Brick Shield". Both have new "casual" and "intense" modes, with the rewards, duration, and difficulty re-balanced on both.

Additionally, "new game plus" functionality has been added. Players who utilise the "grievance booth" to start over, will now restart with 250 credits for each percentage point complete in their previous game - making the better equipment much more accessible second time around.

Other improvements include; a new weapon retention system that allows weapons to be tossed between hands, improvements to the scope systems that allow faster and easier sight alignment, an added ability to sprint while holding a weapon, and a number of tweaks and adjustments to improve the overall quality of the experience.

Shotwood is produced by the solo-developer studio, Concrete Box. Designed from the ground up for standalone VR, Shotwood releases via App Lab for Meta/Oculus Quest on December 23rd, 2021. It is available right now, in early access on PC, for Rift and Link.
