Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, April 17, 2024 — The first stage of the Global Esports Federation’s pro-series Global Esports Tour 2024 kicks off with eight of the world’s top-ranked professional Counter-Strike 2 teams as they enter the virtual battleground from April 18-21.

 
The double-elimination tournament begins on April 18 at Rio de Janeiro’s 2016 Olympic venue, Maracanãzinho Stadium. An unprecedented Prize Bank of US$200,000 is at stake for the tournament taking place between April 18-21, including the Copa Rio Challenge with four top women’s teams.

 
The eight pro teams battling for the Grand Prize of US$100,000 and the coveted GET Trophy are:

Every match of the tournament will be broadcast live around the world on GEF’s Twitch and YouTube channels. Additional live streams will also be available in select countries on Bilibili, Huya, Douyu, and Kuaishou platforms.

GET24 Rio kicks off on April 18 with Best-of-1 matches between FURIA vs 9z, Monte vs paiN Gaming, Imperial Esports vs Metizport, and MIBR vs OG. The winners of Round 1 will advance to a Best-of-3 Semifinal in the Upper Bracket, while the others move on to Best-of-3 matches in the Lower Bracket with a chance to keep their dreams of the Championship alive.

The GET24 Trophy will be awarded on April 20, concluding the first stage of the biggest Global Esports Tour in history.
