Time to ignite your factory-building passion!
shapez 2 is all about building and optimizing the perfect factory. You can now download the game’s first demo and experiment with the various ways that shapes can be taken apart, stacked, painted and put back together to form something completely different. By doing so, you can complete production challenges and gain access to new technologies that you’ll need to reach the next target. As you achieve these goals, factories will grow and become more complex, though never too complicated thanks to the gradual progression. Learn, improve and optimize to design the most efficient shape production lines!

The demo offers players a first glimpse of what to expect in shapez 2. You’ll be able to experience both the visual upgrade from the game’s predecessor and the switch from 2D to 3D. For the first time ever you can build upon multiple levels! In the demo this will be two layers, whereas in the final version you can build upon a total of three levels. Additionally, the inclusion of open buildings allows you to see what is happening inside your creations.

To move your shapes from A to B, there are a variety of different transport options. You can make use of the good old-fashioned conveyor belts to begin with, or build some tunnels that allow you to move shapes faster — though not as fast as with trains, for instance, which will be available in the full game. 

Additionally, designing factories has never been easier with the game’s new Blueprint Library that allows you to save parts of your factory so you can copy and paste them multiple times if necessary. This feature is included in the demo and allows players to share their builds and production chains with each other. 

Players are also able to enjoy shapez 2’s new Research System in the demo. You can continue working your way through this research tree until you’ve gained the ability to cultivate space platforms, granting you more space to build your factory. Until then, you’ll have ample opportunity to get a taste of all this research tree as well as shapez 2 itself has to offer.

The company began as a hobby with a focus on webgames: the studio’s first game was a tower defense game called "YORG.io". After it became clear that a much larger player base could be built on Steam, the concept switched to a hybrid approach: demo on the web and full version on Steam. 

Since the success of shapez the focus is now 100% on Steam. The team behind the studio continues to expand as it concentrates on shapez 2.
