Strategy RPG meets roguelike deck-building in C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield out in 2024

Tokyo, Japan - November 16th, 2023 - Japanese developer ACQUIRE announced that C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield, a roguelike deck-building game mixed with strategy RPG (SRPG), will be released in 2024 on Playstation®5/Nintendo Switch™/Steam®. The demo of the game will also be exhibited in WePlay Expo 2023 held in Shanghai, China on November 18th and 19th. In addition, Takuma Endo, the President of ACQUIRE, along with two other game producers will appear to announce new games including C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield as part of the Famitsu Dengeki Game Direct! event.

C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield brings together strategy RPG (SRPG), with elements of roguelike gameplay. Players build their own deck using more than 50 types of cards to strategically battle enemies on the field of SRPG. With different strategies required for each play, the key lies in the ability to adapt to a new battling situation each time.

An epic story about courage and finding the truth

In the continent of Mistaria, three great nations and ten smaller nations jostled with each other for power. Over time, the endless conflict engulfing the continent had become known as The Hundred Years’ War. As countless bodies piled up and constant screams of despair resonated, the war suddenly came to an end as if to wipe out everything. A jet-black “Dragon” descended onto the battlefield and annihilated all in an instant.

Fahftania, one of the great nations in the eastern continent, succeeded in creating a “Chimera”. With the Hellmuth Brigade wielding the nation’s formidable military force, no entity could ever confront the overwhelming power of Fahftania and the Brigade.

Captain Vel Dina is the head of Clausewitz Battalion that belongs to the Republic in the west. Having obtained information that Fahftania is creating a new “Chimera” through inhumane acts, she gathered her subordinates to set off to Fahftania in order to reveal the truth. And so the story begins.

Exciting gameplay mix of combat and exploration

The gameplay consists of a traditional turn-based strategy RPG combined with elements of card battling. To gain an advantage in battles, building an optimal deck on the battlefield is essential. The fusion of two different gameplay styles offers players the opportunity to experience the excitement of combat and to enjoy the strategic depth of a battle.

A map shrouded in mist awaits you. You must proceed by clearing the mist to discover enemies, facilities, and equipment. Explore the area and predict what might be lurking in the mist for an added depth to your strategy.
