With so many participants, we wanted to give everybody something extra for the weekend. Since Striden has a dynamic weather system, we couldn’t resist seeing how players handle the battle in a snow-covered Nausta, which is one of the maps in the demo. In Vargen, the snow has melted, and a thunderstorm has rolled in. We are calling this patch Nuclear Winter.

The idea is that further along in development, the weather will be able to change dynamically on the maps for each match, providing greater variation on the same map.

This is Striden
Striden takes place when phones were used for making phone calls and was stuck to the wall with a curly cord. In the wake of escalating tensions between East and West, the Scandinavian Peninsula has been transformed into rubble with poisonous gas surrounding the few citizens that still are alive. They can’t stay and they can’t get out - this is the definition of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. 

Striden is an adrenaline-fueled multiplayer experience like no other, plunging players into the heart of the conflict. Arm yourself with a diverse array of weapons spanning the annals of warfare, from the trenches of World War I to the frigid battlegrounds of the Cold War. Engage in intense battles, capture vital resources, and outmaneuver rival clans in a relentless struggle for supremacy.

5 Fortress is an indie developer based in Boden, a snowball throw from the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden. The studio was founded in 2021 by Johan Sundqvist and Emil Darsbo, to develop unique FPS shooters of the highest quality. Striden has been in development for around two years.
