SEOUL – Dec. 23, 2021 – Thai esports team SURREALISM took home the crown for the KartRider Rush+ Race Master SEA 2021 Tournament: Asian Champions Cup Qualifier (A.C.C. Qualifier), earning its spot as the official representative for Southeast Asia in the 2022 Asian Champions Cup. After beating out 48 competing teams, SURREALISM’s first place win also earned the team $2,000 USD and various exclusive in-game bonus items.
The 2021 A.C.C. Qualifier tournament saw fast-paced matches between opposing teams divided into three rounds: Speed, Items and – if both teams tied – a Speed Ace or Speed Solo race to determine the ultimate winner.
During the final round of the tournament, SURREALISM, known as a powerful speed team with an unbeaten record, faced off against DOZONGA, a strong Item mode team. Throughout the tournament, DOZONGA relied on its strategy of letting its opponent take the speed round and then dominating the Item round and Speed Ace round with its lightning-fast secret weapon: DZG_nabeexy.
In the first round, SURREALISM’s speed racers SUR.Quasar, TANTAI•ᴥ•, SUR.PangPond and KRTヽᴘᴀɴᴅᴀᴀᴀᴀ took the win, then shocked fans and its opponents alike when its Item team leader ʙᴀʙʏʙᴀᴇ•ᴥ• also won the Items round, securing victory over DOZONGA.
The top four finishers took home $7,200 (USD) in combined rewards, plus special in-game items. The winners of the A.C.C. Qualifier ranked as follows:
First place: SURREALISM
$2,000 and an in-game Race Master Badge, Title and Balloon
Second place: DOZONGA
$1,000 and an in-game Balloon
Third place: VALKYRIE
$600 and an in-game Balloon
Fourth place: DeathLine
$400 and an in-game Balloon
Additionally, all racers who finished in the top 16 teams received in-game rewards, a Silver Gear Starter and a 1,000 K-Coin.
