Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today released eleven new tunes from the FOCUS ON (NIJISANJI) × Taiko no Tatsujin collaboration to TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL on Nintendo Switch™, with the tracks available on Taiko Music Pass. Taiko Music Pass gives players access to a catalog of more than 700 songs along with monthly updates and is available for purchase with 30-day and 90-day access.

The new song pack adds ten popular Bandai Namco original songs from the TAIKO NO TATSUJIN series that have been covered by a group of VTubers from NIJISANJI, including “FAMIRES WARS” covered by Honma Himawari, “BOKU WA Synth” by Hanabatake Chaika, and “Fly Away” by Fushimi Gaku. Additionally, an original collaboration song from the NIJISANJI group, “KOKODOKO? Maybe DOKKA Island!”, is also available. Players who play the collaboration songs before September 28, 2024, will unlock Mini Characters based on the VTubers. Mini Characters are customization items that can be equipped and appear next to Don-chan and Katsu-chan.

In TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL, players go on a whimsical journey through a music festival in colorful Omiko City. With their guides DON-Chan and new character Kumo-Kyun along for the ride, the game offers multiple modes to play, practice, and ultimately master the endlessly fun experience of playing digital Taiko drums set to favorite songs, including pop hits and video game classics. The game features 76 songs available in the base game at launch, with new tracks such as “Gurenge,” “Feel Special,” and “Racing into the Night.” Game play includes multiple modes, with a Story Mode where players vie to become a Taiko master, multiplayer modes with Online battles and “couch co-op” Party Mode to play with friends and compete in fun mini games such as the “Great Drum Toy War,” and Taiko Mode for endless play and practice. The game also features an engaging customization system, where players earn “Don Coins” as they play to acquire fun in-game items such as costumes and nameplates that factor into game play.
