Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, the studio behind Anno 1800, Anno 117: Pax Romana will immerse players in the Roman Empire at its height. Players will explore an immense, multicultural territory under the Empire’s dominion and take on the role of a Governor tasked with managing the costs of maintaining peace.

"We are thrilled to finally reveal an Anno inspired by the Roman Empire. This is not only the biggest time jump we ever did, it also offers us a lot of possibilities to bring the Anno gameplay to a completely new era while introducing lots of new content for our players to explore." says Manuel Reinher, Creative Director.

"The feedback we received on the Anno Union during the development of Anno 1800 was incredible helpful for us, so we want again invite everyone to share their feedback and help us create the best Anno yet."

Anno 117: Pax Romana marks the beginning of a new era for the Anno franchise as it is the first iteration bearing the mark of the new visual identity for the acclaimed city-building brand.

"Branding and storytelling create emotional connections, differentiate the brand, and make it
memorable.” says Haye Anderson, Brand Director.

“We've refreshed Anno's visual identity to carry us into the next decade with a clear purpose: cultivating the joy of building. Without taking ourselves too seriously, we've infused humor and fun into our brand storytelling, reflecting our community's spirit!"

Players will be granted the powerful yet challenging role of Governor to ensure the economic growth and prosperity of their provinces. To achieve their goals, they will have to decide how to balance their role as enforcer of the Roman law while answering the needs of their local citizens.

For the first time in Anno, players will be able to choose their starting province. Either the Celtic Wetlands of Albion, a land filled with mysteries where no civilized Roman wants to be, or the traditional Roman heartlands, Latium, close to the hungry heart of Empire. Each of these provinces will offer a different set of challenges and opportunities for the player to seize and tackle.

In line with the previous Anno opus, Anno 117: Pax Romana features a unique mix of traditional city building, a deep economical simulation and 4X features like diplomacy, military and narrative layers.

Anno 117: Pax Romana will be available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X | S, Amazon Luna as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store via Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store.
