Paris, November 23rd 2021 – Microids and Pendulo Studios are pleased to reveal today the third and last dev diary about the video game Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo, expected for December 16, 2021 on PC (Steam & GOG).
Only few weeks ahead of the release of the next narrative interactive game from the studio, this developer diary highlights specific cinematic techniques used by the development team, as well as many Hitchcockian influences the studio may have drawn upon.
In order to offer an original work, adapting the story for a neophyte audience while remaining faithful to the original material, the studio has immersed itself in the filmography of the famous director, to transcribe its unique atmosphere, through techniques of narration, special treatment of the color, but also of the work done on backgrounds. Adrián Hernández, Technical & Environment Artist confirming, it is a true homage to all these movies that were wished to be done through the game.
Synopsis:
Ed Miller, a writer, came out unscathed from his car crash down into Brody Canyon, California.
Even though no one was found inside the car wreckage, Ed insists that he was traveling with his wife and daughter. Traumatized by the event, he begins to suffer from severe vertigo. As he starts therapy, he will try to uncover what really happened on that tragic day.
Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo is being developed by Pendulo Studios (Runaway, Yesterday Origins, Blacksad: Under the Skin…) and will launch December 16th, 2021, on PC. The game will come out in 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles and Nintendo Switch.
Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo is an invitation to discover more about this dizzy spell and its origins. The game is a true introspective experience that will challenge the players’ own sense of sanity.
