LONDON—16 December, 2021— Puzzles & Survival has been launched by Flexion Mobile on Amazon, Samsung and Xiaomi following a deal with the game’s Chinese developer 37Games.

The game already earns around US$16 million a month on Google Play according to Sensor Tower data from November 2021. Flexion’s distribution services will add revenue from the alternative platforms with little work being required of 37Games. Flexion is currently averaging around 10% extra revenue for Android games it distributes.

“37Games is a major developer (22 in the world, according to Newzoo),” says Jens Lauritzson, Flexion’s CEO, “plenty big enough to publish on alternative platforms for itself. But Flexion offers a no-fuss way to boost revenue. What we’re seeing here is a trend. Through Flexion, 37Games is able to add its game to other platforms without significant investment, and gain an immediate boost in numbers.”

Puzzles & Survival is free to play with in-app purchases. It is set in an apocalypse and challenges players to kill zombies by winning match-3 puzzles, and survive with cunning strategy games. It is aimed at a teen audience and has seen widespread success since it was launched on Google Play in August 2020. It is a top grossing title on several mobile game charts, ranking as high as top 21 in North America's free games.

“We think players on Amazon, Samsung and Xiaomi are going to love Puzzles & Survival, and we’re delighted to be making the game available to them,” says Sally Peng, Vice President of 37Games. “Flexion is a great partner, helping us to reach players on these alternative platforms quickly and easily.”

The addition of this big-hitting game strengthens Flexion’s portfolio on the alternative platforms. Its distribution business is growing fast as developers recognise the advantages of using its services. Between April and September 2021, the company saw total revenue increase by 42% to GB£15.6 million.

“Our software will create versions of Puzzles & Survival for these three other platforms,” says Lauritzson. “We will also work with the platform stores to maximise revenue with promo opportunities and events. We’re covering everything for Puzzles & Survival on Amazon, Samsung and Xiaomi, enabling 37Games to concentrate its resources on developing its games.”
