December 16, 2021 - Tokyo-based indie developers Onion Games (who formerly have worked on games like Little King's Story, Chulip, Rule of Rose, and even Super Mario RPG!), are happy to announce that their re-release of the cult-classic legend "anti-RPG" Moon is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Steam.
In addition to the first-ever set of trophies for the game, the PlayStation 4 & 5 version of Moon now includes a toggle setting to turn off the game's filtered graphics, letting players experience the game in its original crisp, pixelated glory.
Moon is now available on the PlayStation store here: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10001077/
Moon is now available on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1714580/
The game was first released in the West on Nintendo Switch just over one year ago, and was the first time the game was made available in English since its debut in 1997. Originally created by the 1990s "indie developer" Love-de-Lic, Inc., Moon's re-release on Switch caused a sensation in Japan, charting at #1 in October 2019 eShop downloads, and becoming the #7 best-selling game for 2019 overall in Nintendo's download store.   CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE MOON TRAILER!

[What’s an Anti-RPG?] Have you ever played an RPG and wondered…  “Why is it OK that this hero is breaking into houses and stealing items from people’s drawers?”  “Why is it OK that this hero is killing thousands of innocent monsters?”  Moon is a game about turning those tropes upside down, and seeing what really happens behind the scenes of your favorite RPG videogames.
[Story] One night, under the silvery light of a full moon, a young boy is suddenly sucked through his TV and into a videogame — a classic JRPG called “Moon World”. Following closely behind the game’s brave hero, the boy begins his own journey to recover the world’s missing moonlight by collecting “Love”.  As Moon World’s hero loots and levels up by cutting down monsters for experience points — you know, as heroes do — the boy releases their souls and collects their “Love”. Moon is not a game where you fight to level up — your own progress comes by gathering lost “Love”!  As you explore the world, you’ll meet a crazy cast of weird and wonderful NPCs. Observe their strange habits and daily routines by visiting them at different times and days of the week, and learn their secrets to uncover even more lost “Love”!  "Now, please, open the door!"
    [Key features]

  • Conquer a game with a clear conscience in this anti-RPG! Save the monsters’ souls!

  • Follow the real-time daily lives of Moon World’s NPCs, day and night, all week long!

  • Collect dozens of “MoonDiscs” containing original songs, and choose your own favorite background music!

Moon is now available for PS4/PS5 for $18.99 / €15.99, with a 10% launch discount, at the following link: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10001077/

At the same time, Onion Games has also released the PS4 and PS5 version of Black Bird, its operatic side-scrolling shooter, previously available only on Steam and the Nintendo Switch!
In addition to the usual array of trophies, a number of new features are making their debut in the PS4/PS5 version of Black Bird. First, a brand new continue feature will make it much easier for players to reach the true conclusion of the game.
As a reward for doing so, players who complete the game will unlock two picture books as rewards, which together tell the tale of two little girls, lifting the veil of mystery surrounding the game's underlying story.
Black Bird can be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store at the following link: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10000484/
A bird of happiness, or fowl fortune? Feathers black, all lives consumed!  This is the tale of a young, neglected girl who dies and is resurrected as the ominous Black Bird. Since ancient times, the kingdom has spoken of this bird as one of the fabled "great calamities".  Now, you are this ancient calamity itself — the legendary ‘Black Bird’. Destroy the kingdom in a storm of bullets!   What fate awaits this girl-turned-bird?  Will you, the Black Bird, destroy the world? Has this lively, fun-filled kingdom already led itself down the path of destruction? Black Bird is now available for PS4/PS5 for $18.99 / €15.99, with a 30% launch discount, at the following link: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10000484/   About Onion Games
