VANCOUVER, CANADA, NOVEMBER 29, 2023 — DAVIGO is available for download today on Steam and Meta Quest App Lab. The release concludes over 3 years of early access development funded via Patreon, with over 11,000 pre-orders sold through the crowd-funding platform
In DAVIGO, VR and PC players face off in physics-based battles. The latest version expands on previous Alpha releases with updated art, 4 game modes, 7 official maps, mod.io support to download custom maps created with the DAVIGO Map Editor, and a range of new mechanics for more balanced, competitive play.
The Steam version includes both local and online multiplayer, while the Quest version requires an internet connection and must be played with at least one KNIGHT who joins the VR player's game on PC. KNIGHTS can play for free by downloading DAVIGO KNIGHT'S PASS on Steam, so only the VR player pays for the game. You can learn more at davigogame.com/knightspass.
“This release is the culmination of over 3 years of alpha development on Patreon,” says developer Robert Koch. “We could not have made this game without the generous support from over 19,000 patrons.”
The DAVIGO Patreon has been paused and may restart in the future to support the development of new projects.
DAVIGO will continue development to improve the game with the help of a larger audience on Steam and App Lab. The full version is planned to release in early 2024. The developers are considering ports for PSVR2 and Pico.
