November 11, 2021 -- VRsenal, the world’s leading manufacturer of full-body, unattended virtual reality arcade games, announces a breakthrough in efficiency, affordability, and return on investment. The company that brought Beat Saber and Vader Immortal - Lightsaber Dojo: A Star Wars VR Experience to almost 500 family entertainment centers and arcades around the world is thrilled to introduce the V2, the first modular, multiplayer, unattended VR hardware platform.
Operators struggling with labor shortages and escalating costs can now have a true virtual reality attraction without worrying about staffing requirements. The V2 comes as a 2-player cabinet. Its modular nature means operators can connect two or more cabinets to increase capacity and throughput. With the V2 up to eight friends, partners, and family members can play together.
VRsenal’s designers folded space to create a V2 footprint that is almost identical to the previous single-player cabinet. And the best part is that the cost per player has been cut by almost half. This means operators can see as much as 2X the throughput and double the revenue in the same footprint, and therefore can get their return on investment in a fraction of the time.
“Our unattended cabinet was always intended to be a game platform”, said Ben Davenport, VRsenal’s CEO. “The V2 showcases that in new ways. Operators can offer a multiplayer version of one game or give players more choice by featuring a different game on each side of the cabinet. And our growing library of AAA titles ensures that the V2 will continue to be a highly relevant and profitable workhorse for many years to come.”
The two-player V2 is configured in a V-shape, keeping players separated to ensure customer safety. It also optimizes the viewing angle so more spectators can enjoy watching the action on the dual-LCD screens. And for games that support real multiplayer, players can see their friends’ avatars in the game. Players get the immersion they demand, and spectators get the social experience they crave.
VRsenal’s V2 incorporates the same rock-solid hardware components proven out in VRsenal’s near-500 prior installations, including:
Bulletproof, custom controller cables that rarely need replacement
HTC Vive Pro headsets shrouded in custom nylon armor, and outfitted with a re-engineered head strap to get players in and out fast.
Automated headset and controller retraction system to keep the equipment safe and out of the way between plays.
VRsenal will be showcasing their new V2 hardware platform with multiple new game titles at the IAAPA Orlando Expo November 16-19th at the VRsenal booth #1606 in the Games and Arcade Pavilion. As recently announced, VRstudios will also be featuring Hoops Madness on their two player E-Sports product the FURY, which is built on the VRsenal V2 platform. The FURY will be at the Creative Works booth #3871.
