High Moon | The screens highlight the exciting game play and sheer variety of features delivered by the game's twisted premise, where the Old West has been overrun by the evil minions of a vampire lord. Atmospheric settings from the American Frontier provide backdrop for a frightening menagerie of vampires, ghouls and the generally undead. Now restless to carry out their master's bidding, these forces of evil can only be stopped by the vampire half-breed Jericho Cross. Deadly by trade even as a human, a vampire bite has transformed Jericho from outlaw gunslinger into the most lethal agent against evil, thanks to his gunfighter skills, an arsenal of superhuman vampire abilities, and advanced tools of destruction put at his disposal by the militant secret society Darkwatch.

The advanced technology of the Darkwatch is another underlying theme of the screenshots, with glimpses of a few of Jericho's powerful sidearms, along with heavy artillery such as the Coyote Steam Wagon war buggy and dual-barrel fixed-turret Gatling Guns. The game play in "Darkwatch" is punctuated by frenetically paced combat, with great variety and outstanding visual design in enemies, environments and weapons. The variety of weapons in the game, where classic Western firearms pack futuristic firepower, along with an effective melee attack for each weapon allows for a tremendous array of methods in which enemies can be dispatched. The game also boasts an innovative Judgment system, letting players choose between good or evil to upgrade their arsenal of vampire superpowers.

"Darkwatch" delivers its unique style of quick-draw FPS action and visually sensational setting when it releases on PlayStation 2 and Xbox in Q3 2005. This game is rated M for Mature by the ESRB.

More about "Darkwatch"

The debut title from High Moon Studios, "Darkwatch" is a cinematic 1st person shooter (FPS) with an original premise blending Vampire-Horror and Western genres. They grind their enemies for fuel, fashion their skin into protective cloaks and create weapons designed to exterminate en masse, and they are the good guys. They are the Darkwatch, a vigilant strike-force that has protected man from evil incarnate since the dawn of civilization. Their newest and deadliest agent is Jericho Cross, an outlaw gunslinger pulled into their ranks by an unfortunate close encounter with a Vampire Lord. To save the West, and to retrieve his soul from the damned, Jericho must hunt down the vampire and destroy the evil minions he has unleashed on the American Frontier. "Darkwatch" promises to be a memorable entry into the FPS genre, inviting players to blast through a visually sensational depiction of a haunted Wild West with unique weapons, powerful assault vehicles, horse-mounted gun fighting and special vampire abilities.
