London, Monday 13th November 2017: Voting is now closed for the 35th Golden Joystick Awards presented with OMEN by HP. Millions of votes have been cast and there’s under a week to go until you can watch as the winners are revealed live via Twitch, the world’s leading social video service and community, this Friday.

The excitement starts with a pre-show hosted by Kotaku UK editor Keza MacDonald, and comedian and journalist Ellie Gibson. Keza and Ellie will discuss the big nominations of the day with familiar faces from the world of gaming, with more special guests still to be revealed. If that wasn’t enough to look forward to, they will be giving away an OMEN by HP gaming laptop and an Intel® Core™ i7 processor with MSI Motherboard Bundle, and viewers will also see a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS certificate presentation live.

Next up are the fiercely contested Golden Joystick Awards themselves, hosted by comedian Danny Wallace. Over the past six weeks, hundreds of thousands of people have voted in categories such as Indie Game of the Year, Best Multiplayer and Most Wanted Game. Many awards were still in the balance right up until the final hours of voting – with the lead changing hands multiple times in key categories such as Ultimate Game of the Year and Still Playing.

Along with the 21 categories already announced and voted for by the public, four critics’ choice awards will be revealed on the day, including Critics’ Game of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Hall of Fame and Outstanding Contribution to UK Industry. The critics’ choice awards reflect the input of dozens of professional games critics to ensure a winner was picked that reflected a variety of viewpoints.

  • When to watch: The pre-show live from 3.15pm GMT / 7.15am PST / 10.15am EST on Friday 17th November

  • How to watch: Tune into the event’s official Twitch channel (twitch.tv/goldenjoystickawards) for the exclusive live stream.
