Words in Progress, an original, brand new, and exclusive word game for Apple Arcade is Out Now!

Today, Dutch games developer Gamious has released Words in Progress, an original, brand new, and exclusive word game for Apple Arcade. 

Fun and easy-to-learn, Words in Progress presents you with the task of creating the longest words possible with seven letter tiles. Once you combine a letter with another tile, a space opens up and a new letter appears, thus setting the stage for a game where you have literally multiple words in progress at the same time. Waiting for the right letters to form a lengthy word is a gamble but is the key to achieving a high score, so brush up on your vocabulary, because you’re going to need it!

“Words in Progress has been in development for a while, but was put on hold several times due to a lack of promising publishing opportunities. That all changed when Apple Arcade came into view,” said Creative Director Jos Bouman. “At Gamious, we try to shy away from elements like ads or in-app purchases that are detrimental to the game experience, and thanks to Apple Arcade, we were able to fully focus on delivering a premium game experience, while also having the assurance of tapping into a large player base. For us, it’s a match made in heaven.”

Words in Progress offers an async multiplayer mode, in which you can challenge other players to reach the highest score from a pile of 40 letters. Endless mode offers a single player experience in which you must try to stay alive as long as possible with a pile of letters that keeps growing as long as you are able to reach goals that become increasingly challenging, and then there’s also a Daily Challenge for each of the 10 in-game languages.

More game modes are already in development and will be introduced in the coming months.
