WorldWinner | Newton, Mass. - November 29, 2004 -WorldWinner, Inc. (www.worldwinner.com), the leader in online game competitions, today announced it is teaming up with WildTangent, the leading online game publisher, to add cash and prize competitions in popular games from WildTangent. Through this agreement, gamers will be able to enjoy competitions in WildTangent's Polar Bowler and Blackhawk Striker 2® on the WorldWinner site. In addition, WildTangent gamers will be able to access all of WorldWinner's skill-based games via a co-branded site to be developed and hosted by WorldWinner.
WildTangent's games feature realistic 3D animation, colorful landscapes, and high levels of entertainment for players. Polar Bowler players score points by sliding fun, cuddly polar characters, including a groovy polar bear, down icy lanes to knock down as many bowling pins as possible. Players unlock new lanes and new characters by scoring points.
Blackhawk Striker 2 puts players in the cockpit of three high tech attack choppers. Players fly over incredibly realistic terrain, blasting their way through alien invaders for points while avoiding obstacles in their flight path.
"WildTangent's games are wildly popular and fun because they combine cool characters, amazing 3D graphics and intense competition," said Stephen Killeen, president and CEO of WorldWinner. "By adding two of WildTangent's most popular games to our expanding selection, we're including some of the hottest online games and providing players with a platform for competitions."
WorldWinner's games appeal to a broad demographic of online gamers who want to compete. Currently, nearly 70 percent of WorldWinner's players are female, and they enjoy competing in puzzle, word and card games. The addition of Blackhawk Striker 2, which largely appeals to a male audience, is expected to draw more male gamers to WorldWinner's player network.
"Polar Bowler and Blackhawk Striker 2 are two of the most popular games online, with the number of downloads in the tens of millions," said Alex St. John, CEO and co-founder of WildTangent. "This partnership with the leader in skill-based competitions will allow players to compete in these popular games, and all of WorldWinner's skill-based games, for cash and prizes whenever the desire for competition strikes."
Both Polar Bowler and Blackhawk Striker 2 will be available on WorldWinner beginning in Q1 2005.
